I’ll probably just not worry about compatibility then. I can cross that bridge if anyone cares about P2P relays and importing the pear library we built into actual Nostr clients. If we only use it internally it’ll be much easier. I figured that was the case though.

Less about that element and more about the context of coordination. It doesn’t really matter if 1pm is just after midday or right before dawn. Only as long as YOUR 1pm matches MY 1pm.

Nostr devs out there: Is there anything that stops Nostr from recognizing a different type of key as legitimate signatures on the network aside from the (admittedly very painful) bootstrapping problem of client compatibility/adoption?

I was going to say that this isn't bad practice as all for a passphrase because its not that big of a deal if it has limited entropy anyway, it should be treated as an "extra measure" rather than the true entropy for the seed anyway, and in that case memorable can save your ass. Tell him to swap out the concord. His funds should be safe in the meantime but there’s zero reason to leave it there. If you lost a key you would never leave it so there was no third option. That’s what he has right now. Replace the CC with a third key. Even a software key is fine for a decent multisig.

If you are using a Mk3 through the Q and didn't use a lot of dice rolls in generating your keys, consider it compromised and move to any quick location you can find. If you have another wallet without a coldcard, send it there, if you have a trusted exchange send it there temporarily, if you can create a quick software wallet send it there. Could not be less relevant to anything said here. Nothing i said made any claim at all about whether you should run a pruned versus a full node. The data above is exactly the same no matter what you choose. So if you feel that strongly about pruned nodes, don't run one. Nobody anywhere in any way said you should run one or the other so i don't know what you're wigging out about.

Pruning occurs after validation. It's purely a storage choice and has nothing to do with whether you download the entire chain or not. The IBD operates exactly the same with the pruned node simply dropping block data earlier than a certain threshold after validation and keeping the UTXO set. In other words, it's literally no different.
